Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how KD Systems ("KD Systems," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit kdsystems.co (the "Site") or contact us. KD Systems is owned and operated by Kevin Davidson in Los Angeles County, California.
By using the Site or contacting us, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you submit the contact form on the Site, we collect your name, your email address, the service you select, and the contents of your message. When you email us directly, we receive your email address, the name associated with it, and anything you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
The Site uses GoatCounter, a privacy-focused service, to count visits. For each visit it records the page you viewed, the website that referred you, your browser and operating system type, your screen size, and an approximate location, such as your country, worked out from your IP address. GoatCounter does not store your IP address, does not use cookies, and does not identify you personally. The Site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking tools and does not set its own cookies.
Some of the other service providers that help run the Site also automatically receive technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you request. All of these providers are described in Section 3.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your questions and requests for quotes
- Plan, provide, and support the services you request
- Communicate with you about your inquiry or project
- Protect the Site and contact form from spam, fraud, and abuse
- Keep reasonable business records and meet our legal obligations
We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails without your permission.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to perform those services:
- Web3Forms processes contact form submissions and delivers them to us by email. Web3Forms states that it does not store form submissions and that its server logs are deleted periodically.
- hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.) protects the contact form from spam and automated abuse. To do this, it evaluates information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and how you interact with the page. Its use is governed by the hCaptcha Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Google provides our email service (Gmail), where messages and form submissions are stored, and Google Fonts, which supplies the typeface used in our logo. Google receives your IP address when the font loads. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- GitHub hosts the Site through GitHub Pages and logs visitor IP addresses for security purposes. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- Namecheap, our domain registrar, forwards email sent to addresses at kdsystems.co to our inbox.
- GoatCounter counts visits to the Site so we can see which pages are useful. It receives your IP address and browser information with each page view but does not store your IP address, does not use cookies, and does not track you across other websites. See the GoatCounter privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of KD Systems, our clients, or others; or as part of a sale, merger, or transfer of our business, in which case the information remains subject to this policy.
4. Cookies and Tracking
The Site does not set its own cookies and does not use advertising trackers. Our visit counter, GoatCounter, works without cookies. hCaptcha may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish people from automated programs. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block hCaptcha, you may not be able to send the contact form, but you can always email us directly.
Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors over time or across other websites, the Site does not respond differently to Do Not Track signals. We do not allow advertising networks or other third parties to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Site, other than the service providers listed in Section 3, whose practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
5. Data Retention
We keep contact form submissions and email correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you, provide any services you request, and maintain reasonable business records, and then delete them. If you become a client, records related to your project are kept for the length of our work together and as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, as described in Section 7.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. The Site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the accounts that receive your messages are protected with strong passwords and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your personal information
- Stop contacting you
To make a request, email kevin@kdsystems.co with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request. We may keep certain information when the law requires it or when it is needed to complete a transaction you requested.
California residents. Under California law, including the California Online Privacy Protection Act, you may review and request changes to the personal information you have submitted through the Site by contacting us as described above. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Links to Other Websites
The Site may link to websites operated by others. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Where Your Information Is Processed
KD Systems is based in the United States, and the information described in this policy is processed and stored in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date at the top. If we make material changes, we will make them clear on this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
